Courses Taken:

 

COMM:

            COMM 100:  Intro to Human Communication; this is where I learned the basic definition communication and how it is applied to everyday life. It also gave me an idea as to what to expect out of further communication classes.

 

            COMM 259: Com Business and the Professions; this class gave me an introduction on how important clear concise communication is in the workplace, including, procedures and practices, manuals and handbooks.

 

            COMM 300: Organizational Communication Studies; Thought me how to organize communication in different aspects of life and when certain types of communication is more appropriate than others.

 

            COMM 300: Topic; Communication as Knowledge Production; I am currently enrolled in this class and am learning the break down of communication encoding and decoding.

 

FAS:

            FAS 330: Personal Growth and Human Relationships; this was my first experience with an FAS class, which also help me decide to become and BIS major so I could learn communication and this subject. This was my first look at personal development and looking at family life more closely with a focus of success of interactions.

 

            FAS 331: Parent-Adolescent Relationships; this class offered a more focused look at the relationships between parents and children of a certain age and not the entire family as a whole.

 

            FAS 332: Human Sexuality; this class looked that the development of human sexuality through out time and how society and sexuality have changed as well.

 

            FAS 370:Family Ethnic and Cultural Diversity; my first class where race and ethnicity we brought strongly into play in regards to human development.

 

            FAS 498: Topic; Family and Social Policy; I am currently enrolled in this class  and it is my first FAS class that looks further into our governments rolls in our family life and well being. It also looks into different policies and programs set for families.

 

BIS

            BIS 301:Foundation of Interdisciplinary Studies; my first BIS class, set up to help me on my path to graduation through my major and for my career path afterwards. I hope it helps me to narrow down a few ideas of more specific career options that I have. I hope to learn how to really connect my two focuses together and apply them to life out side of college.

 

SCO

            SCO 315: Courtship and Marriage; I believe this class in relatable to both my concentrations, being that in most societies marriage at some point or an other is a part of human development. We develop as individuals and a unit while in a marriage and in order to make this successful you need to have             adequate communication between the two partners.

ENG

            ENG 301: Writing for the Professions; I am currently taking this class and I expect it to help me with learning to communicate through writing in a professional manor.

 

Spring Semester 2012

            I am currently enrolled in four classes that are required of me for graduation. 

 

Summer 1 Semester  2012

            I plan on taking BIS 302 and 401 in order for me to be able to enroll in BIS 402 next semester. Integrated Self, Understanding Place and Wide World of Sports are some of the seminars that seemed appealing to me.

 

Summer 2 Semester 2012

            This semester I plan on taking BIS 402 and doing my internship for 20 hours a week. Upon completing this I plan on graduation.
